About CJEANYS

The Criminal Justice Educators Association of New York State was founded in 1972. Its members represent colleges and universities across the state that offer criminal justice-related programs.

Our mission is to promote excellence in criminal justice and higher education.

We are dedicated to the following goals and principles:

  • To communicate among our members through diverse formats including listservs, blogs, meetings, and our annual fall conference.
  • To monitor and review state and national public policy affecting our criminal justice programs.
  • To maintain currency in criminal justice trends; both nationally and globally.

The purposes of CJEANYS shall be to:

  • Section 1 Promote the welfare of the membership and that of those engaged in the criminal justice field.
  • Section 2 Provide a channel of communication between and among the various criminal justice programs, faculties, and students throughout New York State.
  • Section 3 Assist in providing staff and acting in an advisory capacity to criminal justice program administrators and instructors.
  • Section 4 Promote excellence and professionalism in the criminal justice field.
  • Section 5 Make recommendations concerning new and existing criminal justice programs.
  • Section 6 Provide a liaison between the various government and private agencies and public and private criminal justice educators.
